Video Editor (Final Cut Pro)

ABOUT FLYLISTED
Flylisted produces real estate marketing media: photos, video tours, drone footage, and social content
for agents and brokerages. Every listing has a launch date, so speed and consistency matter as much
as creativity.
THE ROLE
You take raw footage from our shoots and turn it into finished listing videos, agent-branded content,
and social cuts. Most jobs are short form. Think 60 to 90 second property tours, vertical social edits,
and agent intros. You'll work from a queue of assigned jobs with clear specs and deadlines.
We edit in Final Cut Pro. Our templates, presets, and delivery setup are all built around it, so this role
requires Final Cut specifically. We are not looking for someone who plans to pick it up on the job.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Edit property tour videos in Final Cut Pro from raw drone and ground footage
Work inside our existing Final Cut libraries, templates, and presets
Color correct and grade clips for a clean, consistent look across the shoot
Cut vertical and social versions from the same timeline
Add licensed music, title templates, agent branding, and property details
Stabilize, trim, and clean up shaky or unusable footage
Follow the Flylisted style guide so every video looks like it came from the same team
Export through Compressor to our delivery specs and naming conventions
Handle revision requests quickly and accurately
Keep job status updated in our editing portal so the team can see progress
REQUIREMENTS
2+ years editing in Final Cut Pro. This is a hard requirement, and we will ask you to walk us through
your workflow.
Fluent with Final Cut libraries, events, compound clips, keywords, and multicam
Comfortable with Compressor for exports and delivery presets
2+ years of real estate, commercial, or short form content editing
Solid color grading eye, able to match clips from different cameras and lighting
Comfortable working to a template and style guide, not just freestyle creative
Reliable turnaround. Most jobs are due within 24 to 48 hours of assignment.
A Mac that can handle 4K footage, plus fast, stable internet
Clear written communication and responsiveness during working hours
NICE TO HAVE
Real estate or architecture video experience
Apple Motion for building and customizing title templates
Experience with third-party Final Cut plugins (CoreMelt, mLooks, Motion VFX)
Drone footage editing (DJI formats)
Photo editing and retouching (Lightroom, Photoshop)
Experience with high volume editing queues

What You’ll Edit
You’ll edit vertical 9:16 listing reels, usually 20 to 60 seconds long, built around a scripted hook.

The footage may include log footage, drone clips, detail shots, agent delivery, scripted hooks, lifestyle moments, cinematic property footage, and VFX-driven transitions or reveals.
What You Need to Know
Hooks and Story
You understand that the hook has to stop the scroll in the first 3 seconds.
You can work from a script, shot list, and creative direction, then build the entire edit around the concept. Every cut should support the story, not just look cool.
You understand pacing, retention, payoff, and why the first few seconds determine whether someone keeps watching.
Final Cut Pro
You must be fluent in Final Cut Pro.
You should be comfortable managing large, color-coded timelines with 300+ clips without losing the creative thread. Organization matters. We need someone who can keep a complex project clean, structured, and efficient.
Color Grading
You need to be confident grading log footage, especially S-Log3 and D-LogM.
You should understand:
Conversion LUTs
Color wheels
Waveforms
Exposure correction
Room-to-room consistency
Look LUTs
Cinematic finishing
The final image should feel polished, consistent, and premium.
Editing Techniques and VFX
You should be comfortable with advanced editing techniques, including:
3D text titles
Text-behind-the-subject effects
Day-to-night transitions
Proper match cuts

Motion blur
Clean VFX
Reveal shots
AI-assisted editing tools

We do not want lazy cross-dissolves or generic effects. Every transition and effect should feel intentional.
Kinetic Text and Captions
You should be strong with animated, on-beat kinetic typography.
Captions and text need to be clean, readable, consistent, and placed correctly. Text should always stay clear of top and bottom safe zones.
Typography should feel like part of the edit, not something slapped on at the end.
Pacing
You need to feel the rhythm of a reel.
You should know how to cut to the beat, build momentum, avoid dead space, and keep the viewer engaged from the first second to the last.
Music
You need strong music instincts.
Music is as important as the hook. The song should match the energy, concept, property, agent, and story. The wrong song can kill an otherwise strong edit.
Audio and Sound Design
Audio should be clean, balanced, and intentional.
We expect:
